2012 Olympic Games
The 2012 London Olympic Games Rowing and Canoe Sprint events will take place at Eton’s magnificent Dorney Lake - just three miles from the Walton Cottage Hotel.
The Walton Cottage Hotel with its mix of standard rooms and extended stay suites is ideal for those attending the games or involved in the rowing events. We are very conveniently located for access - just a ten minute walk to Maidenhead train station where a free shuttle bus will connect event ticket holders to the venue (there will be no car parking permitted at Eton Dorney). If you want to enjoy a little light exercise, you can even walk from the hotel to the Eton Dorney’s spectator entrance along the pleasant Green Way or the beautiful Thames Path. We are also on the recommended bicycle route to Eton Dorney where free, secure bicycle parking will be provided.
Thanks to its fast and frequent train access to central London, Maidenhead Station is also a gateway to many of the other Olympic events.
The 2012 Olympic rowing events will take place between July 28 and August 11.
The Paralympic Games competitions will be from August 31 to September 2.
